Parallel Dimensions

Parallel Dimensions is a project made of two filmstrips, each exposed three times in different places.

For eight years as a flight attendant, I felt suspended between multiple realities, searching for a place called home. Yet home, for me, has never been a fixed location; it exists in the ephemeral beauty of daydreams.
This series, captured on a single roll of analogue film exposed three times, embodies that search. Shooting on the same film roll three times required removing and reloading it twice in complete darkness, ensuring it remained unexposed until the final development.

Each exposure took place in a place that shaped me: Ibiza, where I lived; Pisa, where I grew up; and Finland, where I spent time during my residency at Arteles.

In this layered vision, Ibiza’s golden hues and warm breezes intertwine with Finland’s icy, ethereal landscapes, while the structured harmony of Tuscany’s Renaissance architecture merges seamlessly with nature. The Square of Miracles shimmers through Finnish snowflakes, bathed in Ibiza’s sunset. Es Vedrà, the mystical island off Ibiza’s coast, drifts weightlessly beneath Finland’s winter veil, while another Ibiza sunset lends warmth to the frozen expanse of Haukijärvi. 

My series Parallel Dimensions is a visual testimony to my multi-exposed life—one where places merge, overlap, and dissolve, no longer bound by chronology but existing as perpetual possibilities of home.

The result is a world where time and space fold into each other, where warmth and cold, nature and architecture, past and present coexist in a dreamlike fusion—just as they do in my own sense of belonging.
