Leukos (White) is a series of 24 analogue photographs taken in Finland during the Silence, Awareness, Existence residency at Arteles Centre. Immersed in a landscape of apparent whiteness, I soon realized that snow is never just white—it is a mirror, constantly reshaped by the sky.
Each day, the snow transformed, absorbing soft hues or reflecting crystalline tones. Phenomena like diamond dust and sparkling snow revealed light in mesmerizing ways. This experience contrasted sharply with the reflections I knew in Ibiza, where liquid water scattered light fluidly, while Finland’s frozen landscape diffused it ethereally.
This dialogue between solid and liquid, frozen and flowing, became a meditation on transformation, impermanence, and the interplay between earth and sky.
